Short Story Club: The Grand Inquisitor

Join us next week on Tuesday, June 4th at 2pm for an interesting discussion Dostoevsky's fascinating short story--"The Grand Inquisitor"--taken from his masterpiece, The Brothers Karamazov.

From time to time, people interested in philosophy ask me for a good starting point. For those interested in philosophy, I can think of no better place to start than "The Grand Inquisitor." "The Grand Inquisitor" is a fascinating story-within-a-story that grapples with the essence of human nature. But not only that--it's a really enjoyable read. Philosophy is frequently thought of as too abstract, but that doesn't have to be the case. Dostoevsky brings philosophy down to earth, and becomes a dramatic tour de force in his hands. Plus, it's only a 45 minute read!
