Support the library

Dear Patrons,
During 2022 the library experienced a renaissance of library use as the pandemic subsided and patrons wanted to get involved and do new things. We added fun and dynamic children’s programs for infants through teens, as well as new and enticing adult programs. We started a very popular chair yoga class with Linda Penett, while Bev Abel continued with her guided meditations. We invited local artists and crafters like Poke-a-Nose Pottery, Jill Elizabeth (Liztech Jewelry), Liz Pemberton, and Suzanne Werfelmann to do creative programs for our patrons . Ms. Annmarie added the Bunny Hop for infants and toddlers, and the Hour of Code and Slime Club for tweens and teens. It was wonderful that we could bring back our Summer Reading Program for kids, which had the most books read by kids in years. Our library provides unique services and experiences. It’s a place where patrons are engaged in personal growth and involved with the community.
Next year is the 10th anniversary of our new building which opened in July of 2013. A lot of dedicated people worked very hard starting back in 1996 to achieve our wonderful library. These great community volunteers, staff, and leaders planned, saved, and persevered through many challenges. We often have patrons and visitors comment about how great our library is. We are very lucky to have this amazing facility, our great staff, and our community support. This coming year will be another pivotal time for us as we celebrate the past and look to the future. Our goal is to keep our patrons engaged and involved with tried and true services while looking for new and exciting opportunities. We will continue working with our community partners and for more ways to provide needed resources to our local residents. We plan for more staff, additional hours, and more new books and collections. We appreciate any financial gift you can make. Your donation makes the Pocono Mt. Public Library a great place for the entire community!
Sincerely,
Ann Shincovich, Library Director
Jill Gunther, Board President
Thank you!
