Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a phenomenon the past few years that reminds us to support the agencies that we rely on and that help support our community. This year, we hope that you can give any gift to help support the library. Gifts to the library are normally used to help buy new books and movies. Larger gifts and grants are normally used to develop robust technology services, programming for adults and children, and building upgrades.

The library remains committed to providing excellent alternative services in a safe and socially distanced manner during the Covid-19 pandemic. We use simple phone calls, emails, and social media to reach out to our patrons. Monday through Saturday we provide library services by appointment. We’re helping with computer support, scheduling curbside pickup for books and movies, mailing items to homebound patrons, printing and faxing, and distributing free books and crafts. We’ve created tail-gate book club, Zoom programs and YouTube videos. We installed a Little Free Library for 24/7 access to books. PMPL is initiating a collection of circulating Chromebooks and mobile hotspots to help our patrons increase their access to the internet. Best of all, the library no longer charges daily overdue fines! We all need some forgiveness, and there are no more penalties if books or movies are late. PMPL is pushing out as many services as we possibly can to help support all our patrons during this challenging time. We help our community because we care, and now we appreciate your support to help through the winter. A little goes a long way these days, so give what you can and ask us how we can help you or someone you know!
