We just got this thank you bunny and kind words in the last 24 hours. Believe me, we all hate running the library with all the Covid-restrictions, even though they are for the best. We care about the health and well-being of the community. That being said, there is nothing worse than a silent public library! We all miss the sound of the doors sliding open and shut, the beeps and bloops of the scanners as we check out books, the sounds of the printer running constantly while it's printing out all the documents patrons want and need, the sounds of children playing on the other side of my office wall, the chatter between staff and patrons... There is nothing we want more than the return to "normal" whatever that may be. During this difficult time we have tried very hard to provide every type of remote service possible. We've gone fine free, we've started auto-renewal, we've eliminated all the past over-due fines, library staff have even hand typed documents patrons need as they text us the words they need to get on the paper. Please take a moment to give us a call and we'll see if there is any way we can help you! We are currently taking appointments for 45 minutes on the library computers and to browse the new book display we have set up in our cafe space. We still take book requests over the phone. We are still giving out crafts and activities in our "Go Bags" and we have Zoom programs and YouTube videos. And thanks to all of you for sticking by the library during this difficult time!
